Exciting New Things

A couple of exciting new things have been filling my days recently, so thought I would share.
I am pleased to announce that the words "The End" are now part of book number two of the Inge Johannson trilogy. That simply means the fun part is over and the real work now begins. Publishing doesn't seem as monumental as the first time around, but the editing, re-writing, and making sure all the ducks are in a row is just as daunting.
Those of you who enjoyed "Sometimes God Whispers", will love this sequel. Inge's adventures continue with her surviving trials on the frontier, family drama, and perhaps a little romance. New, colorful characters have been added, but you will still find your old favorites. Mysteries are solved, relationships healed, and of course, new situations are created.
So, keep watch for "Following God's Whisper" (working title, it might change) to be available around the first of November. Just in time for Christmas.
I am off and running with ideas for #3. And since I never know where the story is going until my fingers hit the keys, I am excited to get at it.
Secondly, I am stepping into the arena of public speaking. I have done it off and on for years (just like writing) but have decided to be more serious about being a Christian speaker. My debut will be on June 3rd at the Christian Women's Club (Stonecroft Ministries) here in Boise. My topic is disappointment, which is something we can all identify with. I don't claim to be a great speaker, or evangelist, but I think I'm a pretty fair storyteller and teacher. Gifts that put me in great company, since that is how Jesus communicated with people. I hope the audience will be entertained with personal, as well as Biblical stories, lessons learned, and an invitation to join me in the adventure of walking with Christ daily.
On July 11-13, I will be peddling books at the All Class Reunion in Turtle Lake, North Dakota. It will be fun to see family, old neighbors, and friends again. If you are in the area, stop in and say hello. And buy a book! I'll even autograph it for you---no charge!
Come September, I am looking forward to a tour of Amish country in Pennsylvania. I hope to blog about that experience. You never know, I might find a whole new book series in this trip.
Happy Summer to you all! --June
