No one to cook my breakfast or make my bed. What is this??? It doesn't take long to get spoiled. I enjoyed the pampering, but it's probably time to get back to work. After I put everything away and do the laundry. Oh, and I can make my own coffee so I can see the bottom of the cup. I drank their stiff brew, but like mine better.

Many of the people I traveled with will be off on another trip within weeks if not days. I can't imagine the $$$ involved with that. But if you have the money and the health ---go for it. While I did have a good time (mostly), it's nice to be home. I think the cats missed me, if nothing else.

I will have permanent souvenir of Georgia...a wee scar over my eyebrow. At this point, I have a nice shiner. I'm going to have to come up with a really good "story" to tell. Somehow tripping on the cub just doesn't cut it.

There was so much, it is hard to remember it all. I wish I had had the time to just sit and absorb everything around me, to visualize and contemplate the people who have gone before me. Many of those places began in the 1500s, first the Spanish, then the English, sometimes the French. The importation of slaves brought completely new cultures from many other parts of the world. And it has all melded into "the south" of today.

I loved Charleston with its rich history, probably because we had an amazing tour guide that brought it all to life. I think Jekyll Island was my favorite. It was quiet, serene and oh, so beautiful. The playground of the rich and famous of the early 19th century. And they did live opulently. Can't say I was comfortable with the waiter opening my napkin and laying it in my lap or having enough silverware at the table for three meals. I could figure it out when it was beside my plate, but what do you do with the knives and forks above your plate? I ate fried green tomatoes, okra, and shrimp every day. And fresh shrimp is nothing like what we buy at the store.

I loved the plantation lawn mowers! All the gates were pull to open so the sheep couldn't push their way into the gardens. But my very favorite thing was the live oak trees. Some have limbs over 85 feet long. On my ride to the hospital, I noticed they reached over four lanes of traffic. Note how this one has touched the ground several times and now forms an arch over the walkway.

The sunsets on Jekyll Island were amazing. Each more beautiful than the one before.

The diversity of life that was unique to the marsh lands was incredible. The alligators that people just take for granted. Stay out of their way and they won't bother you. You bet. The birdsong in the morning filled your soul. The deer wandering under your window almost brought tears to your eyes.

Thank you for sharing my trip, it was fun. Now I hit the bricks and go back to work.

Book number three in the "Sometimes God Whispers" series is about half done. I am shooting for Christmas, but we'll see what life holds between now and then.

Thank you for sharing my experience. It was fun to take you along.
