We left this morning from the restful, peaceful resort on Jekyll Island. It was wonderful to soak in the sun, listen to the birds sing, and smell the blooming flowers. And we were off to Savanah, Georgia. With one side stop to Driftwood Beach. I just wanted to sit there forever and soak it all up. There is never enough time to do that.

And then were were back on the bus to Savanah. I have to admit that I crashed during the trip. We arrived here in time to explore the riverfront with shops and restaurants. There was a HUGE riverboat at the dock. Reminded me of the gambling boats on the Mississippi. I'd love to take a cruise on that. Maybe another day.

Following lunch we took a trolly around the historic district. This city was not destroyed during the Civil War. Sherman deemed it to beautiful to burn and presented it to President Lincoln as a Christmas present.
I have to admit on day six, I am now into information overload and can't remember much of anything, it has become a blur.
We have fifty people in this group from all over and they are a delightful bunch. Tonight we had dinner at the Pirate Den---fried chicken, pork loin, fish, greens, tomatoes and okra with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was a feast! Oh, ya, cheesecake for dessert.

And this one is just for giggles and to worry my daughter as I said I was taking a golf cart and touring on my own. If you look really close, it has a paddlock on it.
Tomorrow we are visiting Tybee Island, another of these barrier islands that line the Georgia coast. I have never seen so much of what we called a slough in North Dakota. Marsh land with an ecosystem all its own. For those of you who read Nicolas Spark's books, they are all set in this area. As well as "When the Crawdads Sing".
BLISTER. Bandaid. Hot bath. See you tomorrow.
