Since I am still upright, I've decided to chance traveling once again. I know, the only time you hear from me is when I'm on the road... or bus in this case.

I don't know who books these flights, but they must be morning people. I arrived at the airport at zero-dark-thirty again (4 am). And we were off to Savanah, Charleston, and Jekyll Island via Dallas/Fort Worth. First time on a train to move me to the next gate----Good idea to hang on! And I clung to coat tails of the experienced travelers to find my way around. Gone are my days of exploring on my own. Courage comes from numbers. And remember, I is just a "little country mouse".

Airports are always an interesting place. I find them great for people watching and eavesdropping. Somehow you can sit in one place a listen to any number of conversations around you. If you put all the pieces together it would make an interesting story. People never cease to amaze me---mostly in good ways. We flew with babies and dogs...both of which did remarkably well.

Arrived in Charleston about 3 pm and were delivered to our hotel in a brand-new bus! Still had the new vehicle smell. I was greeted at the airport by my friend of 60 plus years and my traveling companion. She had arrived earlier from North Dakota. We have lovely accommodations on the Charles River with the marina filled with sailboats just outside the door. It is a balmy 80 degrees. I'm loving it.

Tomorrow we will explore Charleston. It has been suggested that we take the "golf cart" tour. I hope they don't expect us to drive. I am up for adventure, but maybe not that much.

And I heard a rumor that we will see a plantation tomorrow. One of the last great southern gardens.

I was hoping for some "southern food" but had spaghetti and chicken for supper. Maybe tomorrow. Shimp and grits....or so I am told, is the thing to have. No greens. Been there, tried that, and no thanks.
